THE HAMMONTON ARTS CENTER SHALL SEEK TO ACTIVELY ENCOURAGE PARTICIPATION IN, AND APPRECIATION OF, THE VISUAL ARTS THROUGH EDUCATION, EXHIBITS AND ARTS PROGRAMS.
Since 1996, the HAC, a non profit, multi arts group has fulfilled it's mission in Hammonton and surrounding western Atlantic County by offering classes, workshops, lectures and presentations focusing on the arts. HAC sponsors exhibits and shows of the work of it's members, other area artists and students from local schools.
The HAC is now the cornerstone of the new Downtown Hammonton Arts District
One of the greatest assets of the HAC is its diversity. It offers members a choice of exhibits to showcase their work, a choice of classes and workshops to hone their skills, a choice of member's groups to participate in, and a choice of social activities in the evenings. The members themselves are a diverse group made up of beginning, intermediate and professional artists of every ethnic background and economic level. One of the biggest joys of being a member of the HAC is the diversity it provides.
Funding for the HAC is provided in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts through the Local Arts Grant administered by the Atlantic County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs. The HAC is a member of the South Jersey Cultural Alliance (SJCA).
